Whether in art, poetry, story or song, being creative has always been a part of my life.

As I child I made my own poetry books, sewn together, using scraps of soft leather for the covers. They were only a couple of inches high,(just right for my dolls), but I can remember the thrill it gave me to create them. I was always creating something, be it books or miniature felt animals - nothing much has changed.

As a trained nursery nurse, I have worked with young children at pre-school and primary level. After having my older two children, I decided on a career change and studied graphic design.

I presently live in the beautiful Highlands of Scotland with my husband and three children - we have an adorable baby girl to keep us busy now. It's wonderful to have an excuse to buy more picturebooks!

Before we settled in the Highlands, we spent an educational two years in Belize, Central America. This proved to be a valuable time for inspiration. What amazing sights, sounds and smells were on offer there.

Poetry and picture books are my passion.
Words excite me. I love their sound, I love the way they evoke emotions.
Picture books are such a wonderful introduction into the world of books. If you can install the love of reading into one child through reading picture books, just think what they might be inspired to become, and the amazing wealth of knowledge they could gain, all from reading.
